We are pleased to offer this exceptional concert guitar by Eduardo Durán of Granada, Spain.
Eduardo Durán belongs to one of the most respected guitar-making families associated with the Granada tradition. His family’s history in guitar making goes back generations, and the Durán-Ferrer name is closely connected with the development and preservation of the traditional Granada school of Spanish guitar making.
This particular instrument is Eduardo Durán’s top concert model and is a remarkable example of his work. It is an exceptionally responsive, powerful and musical guitar, offering a combination of clarity, warmth and projection that makes it particularly well suited to the professional concert player.

The sound is bright, clear and highly articulate, with beautiful singing trebles and a deep, thick and powerful bass. The instrument offers excellent balance across the entire register while maintaining the projection and richness expected from a serious concert guitar.
The current action is approximately 3 mm and can be adjusted slightly lower if preferred, depending on the player’s technique and setup.
The guitar has a 51 mm nut width and a 650 mm scale length. It is finished in traditional French polish, giving the instrument an elegant appearance and contributing to its lively acoustic response.
The guitar is equipped with high-quality Der Jung tuning machines, known for their precision, reliability and excellent craftsmanship.

THE DURÁN-FERRER TRADITION
The history behind this guitar is as fascinating as the instrument itself.
The Ferrer family has been part of Granada’s guitar-making tradition since the 19th century. Eduardo Ferrer became one of the important figures of the Granada school and was highly respected not only as a guitar maker, but also as a teacher whose knowledge influenced generations of Spanish guitar makers.
His influence reached far beyond Spain. During the 1960s, Yamaha invited Eduardo Ferrer to Japan, where he shared his knowledge of traditional Spanish guitar construction with Yamaha’s craftsmen. His experience and teaching contributed to the development of Yamaha’s classical guitar-making tradition and helped bring elements of the Spanish school to a new generation of makers in Japan.
This important legacy continued through the following generations of the family. Eduardo Durán Ferrer learned the craft within this remarkable Granada tradition, receiving his training from his father and grandfather and also learning from the renowned Granada guitarrero Rafael Moreno.
Eduardo Durán Ferrer represents the continuation of this historic lineage, combining the knowledge passed down through his family with his own experience and understanding of the instrument.
A guitar by Eduardo Durán is therefore more than simply a beautifully made instrument. It is part of a living tradition of Granada guitar making — a tradition shaped by generations of craftsmen, teachers and musicians and carried forward into the modern concert world.
This particular example is an outstanding opportunity to acquire a top-level Eduardo Durán concert guitar with an exceptionally responsive voice, beautiful projection, powerful basses and singing trebles, in excellent condition.
