Juan Alferez 1979 – A Special Piece of History

This beautiful guitar was handcrafted in Madrid in 1979 by the talented luthier Juan Alferez. It is the exact model that Eric Clapton played during his first performance of “Tears in Heaven.” The design, the rosette, the construction — everything is identical.

This instrument is inspired by the renowned José Ramirez 1A, featuring a cedar top with Indian rosewood (balisandre)back and sides. It is equipped with original Fustero tuners, and all parts remain completely original.

The guitar has a lovely, warm sound and plays with great ease. It’s not just a player’s instrument — it’s a collector’s item with historical value. We are considering putting it up for auction, as it holds a higher value than many other guitars from the same maker and period.
