Casa Guitarra is proud to welcome Danilo Cabaluz for an exclusive two-day intensive guitar masterclass — a rare opportunity to study closely with one of the most inspiring guitarists, composers, and educators of his generation.
Based in Vienna and active internationally, Danilo is travelling to Casa Guitarra especially for this unique visit, dedicated to sharing his passion for the guitar, his deep musical knowledge, and his extraordinary artistic experience. Over the course of two days, participants will have the privilege of learning directly from him in an intimate small-group setting, before the weekend culminates with his live concert on Sunday.
Born in Chile and internationally acclaimed for his virtuoso artistry, Danilo combines the highest level of classical guitar mastery with the living pulse of Latin American folk traditions. His performances are celebrated for their brilliance, rhythmic precision, expressive depth, and effortless command of the instrument. As both soloist and composer, he has built a unique voice that unites tradition, innovation, and world-class musicianship.
Danilo studied with renowned masters including Luis Orlandini in Chile and Eliot Fisk at the prestigious Mozarteum University Salzburg, where he later became a respected professor himself. With many years of teaching experience in conservatories, festivals, and masterclasses across Europe and Latin America, he is known as an exceptional mentor who can transmit complex ideas with clarity, energy, and inspiration.

Arrangements for Solo and Accompanying Guitar in Folk and Popular Music
Across two evenings, Danilo will share practical tools and musical concepts drawn from South American traditions and universal guitar technique. Topics include:
South American rhythms and authentic guitar approaches
Strumming techniques and accompaniment patterns
Joropo, Merengue, Zamba, Cueca, Chacarera, Tango, Huayno
Interpretation of traditional and contemporary guitar works
Harmony on the guitar: chord systems, cadences, substitutions, transposition
Song accompaniment and groove development
Creating introductions, interludes, endings, second voices
Arranging for solo guitar
Improvisation and creative development
