Domingo Esteso 1931
This is the Original guitar
About Domingo Esteso
Domingo Esteso (1882–1937) was one of the finest Spanish luthiers of the early twentieth century — a true pioneer of the flamenco guitar.
Together with Santos Hernández, he helped define the modern flamenco instrument, giving it its characteristic lightness, brilliance, and expressive power.
His legacy lived on through his nephews, who later became the renowned Conde family, continuing his tradition of excellence and passion for the guitar.

Homenaje a Domingo Esteso
In our workshop , surrounded by some of the finest guitars ever made, one instrument captured our hearts — a Domingo Esteso from 1931, completely original and full of history. It inspired us to begin a very special project: to create an exact, faithful copy of this remarkable guitar.
Each instrument in this limited edition of two will be crafted by hand, built with the same spirit and precision as the original. We are even using vintage tonewoods — rare materials acquired years ago from a respected luthier who has since passed away — to give these guitars a truly authentic voice.
This Homenaje a Domingo Esteso model features a German spruce top, Spanish cypress back and sides, and an ebony fingerboard. The rosewood tuning pegs, built in the traditional flamenco style, complete the instrument with both charm and authenticity.
Extremely lightweight and responsive, this guitar offers a powerful, colorful, and vibrant sound — the essence of the classic flamenco voice.
This is a rare opportunity to own a historically inspired instrument at an exceptional value:
€2,500 (excluding VAT) — available only for pre-order.
The guitars will be completed around December, built with care, passion, and respect for tradition.
Homenaje a Domingo Esteso —
a tribute born from love for the craft,
from the hands of two generations of luthiers,
and from the timeless sound of Spain.
We’re also proud to share that this special project is being built together with Freja Näsaman, who joins our workshop from Sweden as an intern for six months.
Freja studied instrument making at Musikinstrumensakademien and has come to our shop to deepen her knowledge of Spanish guitar-making traditions.
Freja builds beautiful instruments with great care and attention to the smallest details, and she will be part of the team bringing this Homenaje a Domingo Esteso to life — a new generation learning from the old.

Antonio De Torres :
Recently, I had the privilege of visiting the Instrument Museum in Barcelona, an experience that felt like stepping into the very soul of the guitar’s history. Among the treasures I encountered were instruments that every luthier dreams of seeing, let alone holding. To have in my hands the guitar of Emilio Pujol, crafted by the legendary Antonio de Torres,
was nothing short of a dream come true. I stood before three Torres guitars—two of them still playable—and I was able to take measurements, study their details, and feel the essence of their sound. Alongside them, I admired the works of Enrique García i have seen an amazing guitar made by him and other great masters, each guitar carrying the voice of a different era.

For me, this was more than just a museum visit—it was a lesson written in wood and strings. To hold these guitars, to see how they were built and how they respond, gave me new insight into the art of guitar making. These historical instruments are not just relics; they are guides, showing us what a guitar can be when crafted with vision and devotion. As a builder, I left with a deeper understanding of sound, structure, and spirit, and with renewed inspiration to create guitars that honor this tradition while carrying it forward into the present.
