Wolfgang Jellinghaus SIGNATURE

After building and honouring the designs of other guitar builders, it was time to finally build a guitar to our own ideas. The Jellinghaus Signature is a very modern guitar with a lot of own designs and with elements from famous designs combined into one.

The top is double top with Nomex for a loud sound with an immediate response. The neck/body joint combines the construction of the traditional Spanish heel with a free floating fingerboard, in use for violins since centuries. The free-floating fingerboard and the added armrest met the complete top vibrate freely without being held down by a standard fingerboard. The sides and double layered and are lined with cypress to stiffen the sides without adding a lot of weight. The sound is loud, immediate, strong note separation with a long sustain on the basses and singing trebles.

The wood for tops is hand selected by Wolfgang in Switzerland, the wood for sides and back is bought in logs and sawn to Wolfgang’s specifications in our own sawmill. Only the best wood is used for the Signature models. As all Jellinghaus guitars this too has a French polished finish to bring out the best in looks and sound.
